Folks like me are lucky to have a roof over their heads, but I'm related to someone who is lucky enough to have an extra roof or two. This New Years we were lucky and spent a week in luxury due to his generosity. (thanks Uncle Kenny!) Check out this link for way more pictures of this amazing house. We were lucky to have everyone of our family there.
We were lucky to enjoy games and good times with each other.
We were lucky to be surrounded by beautiful pieces of art and experience others' creativity.
I'm lucky enough to have a husband that spent as much time in the hot tub as that little 3 year old wanted. (which was multiple times a day and always first thing in the morning)
I'm lucky enough to have kids who helped tremendously keeping track of a wandering 3 year old in a massive house. (thankfully the only mishaps she caused was dumping Caleb's shower gel out, finding and opening a half dozen or so "Silicon Do Not Eat!" packets and writing on the wall in the toy room with dry erase marker--which thankfully came off with Magic Eraser. {Bless the inventor of those things.} And for her in a place like that, those are all very minimal!)
I'm lucky to have this awesome teenager in my life. He is a great kid and I think he even had a good time.
We were lucky to all have enough leisure time to do as we pleased. (notice my dad doing two things he enjoys a lot: napping and reading scriptures.)
I'm lucky to have this little darling who is so easy going in my life. (Even though she broke both temples on her glasses while we were there, I still adore her!)
I was also lucky to have plenty of cousins around who helped with Tessa patrol.
We were lucky enough to have fun kids around who made ringing in the new year more fun!
We were lucky to enjoy the beauties of the earth from large paned windows.
And finally we were lucky enough to close out 2009 and ring in 2010 together. May we continue to be as lucky in 2010 as we were in 2009.
And just so you know, I've always equated lucky with blessed.

Looks like fun! Yes you are "lucky"!
Had to laugh about the gel packets (which Amelia was eating yesterday). I think our kids are kindred spirits. Furthermore, I want to be friends with your teenagers. I can tell they are super cool.
Looks like a great time was had by all!
I too equate lucky with blessed--have even been trying to use that word more in my everyday conversations.
What a magnificent house! And so much family!! Looks like you all had a lot of fun. What a great way to ring in the new year.
...and your Tess stories make me laugh. I too thank the Lord almost daily for the invention of the magic eraser. :)
Wow! What a place and what a great time for your family. If the house really has the play room as shown in the link with pictures, Tessa must have loved that! And, really, I can't think of a finer family to get to enjoy such luxury for a week.
