He comes home tomorrow! It has been a quiet week without Caleb-energy bursting about. My parents went up to visit him last night (the camp was in Hull Valley). They said he had hurt his leg, but was having a great time and he was off for his night alone for the Wilderness Survival merit badge. We can't wait to hear all about it and see what merit badges he's earned. After this camp, he should have all of the Eagle-required merit badges (except for personal management which we are just waiting for the discussions to be held). Good for him!
And speaking of merit badges, I heard some very exciting news yesterday. Cache informed me he is almost finished with 4 more merit badges and half way on 5 others. To a mom, that translates to only 6 left! And speaking of that, does anyone know anything about Composite Materials? (click on link to see requirements) We are at a complete loss as to how to do that one. We could use any help or direction anyone could offer.

I just sent you and email after I talked to him.
Dad
Do you know if anyone else has ever earned all of the possible merit badges? Is this going to put Cache in a record-breaking range? Will this bring him national recognition?
Yes others have done it. There are a few each year across the country. The ones in Utah have gotten to meet with the governor. We have seen some boys on shows like 20/20, so I think if just depends. If he breaks any kind of record, it will be for his age. You have until 18 to earn merit badges, and most boys we've seen who earn them all are very near 18. If all goes well, he'll be 15 1/2. I don't know how much publicity Cache will welcome, we'll be good with whatever he chooses.
