Tessa's 4th birthday

I feel bad Tessa's birthday was sandwiched in between Katie's death and funeral, (as was Katie's daughter's, Camille---they share a birthday) but what to do? I did make her two requests for meals--corn bread for breakfast and chicken and rice for lunch (her all time fave). She got band-aids, a book, a dress and a doctor's kit. After the lunch, most of the family took off for the football game. She got to watch a movie and then I took her for a hair cut--which delighted her to no end. Thankfully she didn't seem to notice everything else that was taking away from her day! Just a few pictures ('cause I was a bad mom and this is all I got!):

Love the look on her face in each picture! Happy Birthday (a little late) to Tessa!

ps I don't think you're a bad mom for missing a few pictures--just a distracted one for a short period of time.

If you are anything, it is NOT a bad mom! Happy Birthday Tess. She is just so cute I want to reach through and squeeze her!

Bandaids. Sounds like our girls should hang out. Not sure what the fascination is, but it's cheap entertainment, right?

Oh dear Darcie, you have put something in my heart that I can't even put into words. I worried so that Katie was suffering so much and that we are so far away that we couldn't help her or your mom or anything. Thank you for posting such beautiful things for Katie. I have thought often of what she is doing and even wondered if she has seen my mom and dad. I love you and want you to know that. Love Aunt Peggy
