All is Well

Thank you all so much for your kindness on my last post. I spent the first days after publishing it feeling all vulnerable and uptight and your encouragement cheered me.

Thus far, this pregnancy hasn't been my typical; thank goodness. I have been very blessed. I usually spend the entire 9 months feeling nauseous and throwing up with the worst of it tapering off around 5-6 months. I usually have lost 15ish lbs each pregnancy in the first few months then the weight gain quite minimal after that. (With Tess, I delivered only 8lbs. over my prepregnancy weight--didn't look anything like that when I left the hospital, but that is what the scale said!) While some of you may wish that that could happen to you, I assure you, it is not the fun way. This time around, at 19 weeks, I've gained 1 lb. and I've been able to put a meal on almost every day and I've been able to keep Tess from destroying the house. That has been huge. What has made the difference? I think faith. When I knew that we were to have another one, but wasn't pregnant yet, I prayed fervently that somehow, somehow I would be able to manage with Tess. (I think my in-laws have been here enough to vouch for me when I say she is a little on the active side.) The answer came one night after quite a few weeks of prayers. It was this: if I started Vitamin B and 1/2 Unisom at night (a recommended help to those who struggle with morning sickness that had never worked for me) as soon as I knew I was pregnant, then things would be better. Better is the best word. Feeling better is definitely a relative term, but it has been significant enough for me to be able to still care for my family. I am so thankful. Heavenly Father truly lightens our burdens and makes a way even when we see no way through.

What an awesome blessing! I am so happy that you are feeling better than you have in past pregnancies. I can understand the depression that comes from feeling so sick. It is wonderful wonderful that your burdens have been made light.
